What Actually Drives the Cost
Are There Extra Charges to Watch For
Credit repair typically costs a setup fee of roughly $50 to $300 and a monthly fee in the range of about $50 to $150, depending on how much negative reporting is being worked and how aggressive the program is. Anything dramatically outside that range — either suspiciously cheap or charging a percentage of your debt — is worth questioning.
What the Law Says About Fees
The Credit Repair Organizations Act prohibits charging or collecting a fee before a service has been fully performed. In practice that means a company cannot bill you a monthly fee for work it has not yet done, and it has to let you cancel within three business days of signing without any charge. California adds its own layer: credit services organizations must register with the attorney general and post a bond, and they are similarly barred from taking money before services are performed.
Those rules are the reason reputable pricing looks the way it does: a stated setup cost and a flat monthly fee tied to work that is actually delivered, not a large lump sum collected on day one.

The 5 Points of Compliance Difference
Our approach goes beyond basic disputes. We examine how negative items are reported, documented, and maintained — then challenge them based on compliance issues, not just accuracy.
What Actually Drives the Cost
Three things: how many accounts need work, how many rounds of challenges are needed, and how long the process runs. Each round is a 30-day investigation with each bureau, so a file with one wrong collection resolves faster and cheaper than one with six collectors reporting the same debts. That is also why no honest company quotes a single price without reading your reports first.
Are There Extra Charges to Watch For
Yes, and they are worth asking about before you sign anywhere. Common extras are per-letter fees, "consultation" fees, charges for credit monitoring you did not ask for, and enrollment or portal fees disguised as something else. Ask for the total first-month cost and the total cost over the expected program length, in writing.
Warning Signs in Credit Repair Pricing
- A large upfront payment before any work has been performed.
- Fees calculated as a percentage of the debt being removed.
- A guaranteed score increase or a promise to delete accurate items.
- No written contract, or no mention of the three-day cancellation right.
- Prices that only appear after a sales call.
